Test steps

  1. Open plug connection S1. Measure resistance between socket contacts 10 and 29 of cable 1.
    RTarget = 800-1400 Ω. If R = RTarget, continue with 4.
  2. Open S3. Check resistance between pin contacts E and F of cable harness or N2 contacts of measuring cable. RTarget = 800-1400 Ω.
  3. At transmission output: Remove cap over inductive pickup N2. Open S5. Measure resistance between pin contacts of inductive pickup N2. RTarget = 800-1400 Ω.
  4. Check resistance between contact 10 and vehicle ground at open plug connection S1.
    RTarget = ∞ Ω.
  5. Check resistance between contact 29 and vehicle ground. RTarget = ∞ Ω.
  6. Check resistance between contact E and ground at open plug connection S3.
    RTarget = ∞ Ω.
  7. Check resistance between contact F and ground. RTarget = ∞ Ω.
  8. Check resistance between each contact and ground at open plug connection S5.
    RTarget = ∞ Ω.

Important Note

If your check does not reveal any actual fault, please re-check the connecting cable to the sensor inside the transmission. In most cases, it is not the sensor that is faulted, but the cable!
